Open Chamber Music Readings - Spring ‘23

Studio Hollywood - a Westchester-based performance studio that serves as WCS’ home for rehearsals and selected public chamber music performances - is delighted to offer, starting early February 2023, an ongoing series of Open (and Informal) Chamber Music Readings to both WCS members and the Public, covering masterpieces of the chamber music literature, as well as smaller and lesser-known works.

(Since its inception in 2010, the Studio has hosted over 100 public performance events, in addition to numerous youth Concerto competitions on behalf of Westchester-based symphony orchestras, and is also separately available for rental use, including for instrumental teaching and/or recording sessions and student recitals, among other purposes. To inquire, email: WCSoloists@gmail.com)

Chamber Music Readings participants - primarily orchestral instrumentalists ranging from intermediate-to-advanced students and avocational adult players to seasoned professionals - may use these sessions to:

  • Expand or refresh repertoire and chamber music performance skills

  • Prepare for upcoming performances at other venues

  • Complement their educational curriculum at music schools or conservatories

  • Network with other students, professionals and/or proficient avocational players

  • Come for the simple purpose and sheer joy of informal music-making with others

WCS Members, in particular, can use these sessions to develop performance repertoire for WCS’ current or upcoming season(s).

Payment via PayPal (for non-WCS Member players): must be received at least 7 days in advance of the registered Session. In the event of wait-listing, or if sufficient sign-ups for a particular session fail to materialize, registration fees will be promptly refunded after the session date, or else applied to a different session. Registration fees for cancellations within 3 days of the session will not be refunded, and will be apportioned to hiring a substitute player, if available, or to partially reducing fees for other session players, if a substitute player is not available.

We look forward to seeing and enjoying great chamber music with you!
